At 63 I can verify that Maurice White and his message of hope and spirituality was undeniable from the very first album on Warner bros. I was first introduced to EWF with the Head to the Sky album from a stepbrother at 14 yrs old. My mind was blown! EWF ‘s music has lifted me up through all my hard times and Maurice White was the motivational speaker. RIH Maurice White.
My favorite group of all time. I have all their music and saw times in theee days in two different cities! It’s rare when the studio albums are surpassed by the Live Shows but EWF always brought the Heat. The Lucky Daye cut put them back on the radio and I felt so good when I heard it. RIP Maurice White!
Hey Elements, You’ll are my all time favorite musical group. I have seen you’ll in concert so may times I can’t remember. I am 58 yrs old and grew up on my parents playing your music. Wolf Trap and Merriweather Post Pavilion in Virginia are the places I have seen you the most. I now have the PLESURE of coming to Napa, CA to see you at the Blue Note Jazz Festival. I did not purchase the package until they announced you’ll were coming. I would like to ask just one thing of you’ll; please sing Be Ever Wonderful. As a young back girl, this song touched my heart and stayed in my head. God bless you all!!!!!
Maurice White’s messages are ones the world still needs, maybe more than ever: yearning and learning, devotion, gratitude, singing a song and not hiding love…I am so grateful for those messages, since I was in high school in the 70’s, as EW&F was really bursting out into the world, and renewed again seeing them live just last night. Thank you!
A friend and I had the pleasure and privilege of witnessing EWF at the Greek Theater in Berkeley (June 27, 2025). The inspiring artistry and spiritual beauty of the band’s music never fail to amaze me. Seven thousand fans leap to their feet in unison when the band hits the stage and the first notes sweep over the crowd. Joy and happiness, a moving and dancing celebration. EWF is truly a gift, a wondrous group for the ages. Maurice White’s spirit truly lives on with every song. We keep our heads to the sky, for the clouds to tell us why. Thank you Maurice and Earth Wind & Fire, the eternal elements of the universe.
Had the great pleasure of seeing Earth, Wind & Fire perform at the Greek Theater in Berkeley in June 27, 2025. One of the best concerts ever. As they hit the stage and the first notes of “Shining Star” filled the amphitheater, 7,000 fans leaoed to their feet, screaming and dancing under the night sky. EWF’s artistry and positive, soulful message are unmatched, and Maurice White’s spirit and legacy live on. EWF’s music is a gift, a blessing, to the world.
Maurice White was a remarkably gifted performing artist, singer, musician, writer, producer, spiritual light-bearer, and great wisdom teacher. Maurice put together one of the greatest bands in the history of the world with the mighty elements of the universe, Earth, Wind & Fire! There was never a group before EWF, or a group that has come along since that could hold a candle to Earth, Wind & Fire. Maurice White was the architect of a musical force of nature, which helped to magnify the concept of Universal Love while making countless hits using virtually all musical genres. Big ups and “Eternal Thanks” to Maurice White for your being a true “Shining Star.”
I had the pleasure of seeing EWF at Ravinia on 8/7. Fantastic concert! Felt so good after the show. Philip Bailey can still hit the high notes when singing RESONS. 14,000+ that night. Thank you EWF for the absolute wonderful experience.
My earliest memory was the first time I heard Last Days and Time. (I’m 75), and I was hooked. The harmonies of Maurice, Phillip and Jessica Reeves was mesmerizing. I have it on LP, cassette and CD. I just wish that you all would do some of the songs during your concerts. My favorite is I’d Rather Have you. I had the pleasure of enjoying you live three times. Thanks for contributing to the sound track of my life.
My Soul, both biased & objective, declares that there is not another musical influence that pinnacles Earth, Wind & Fire. Throughout my Life, (since I was 15) I waited for each new release of “vinyl” to hit the stores. (One of my Big Sisters gifted me my first “33.3”, “The Need of Love” in ’71). Subsequently, I’d purchase each LP (and I do mean each and every one), and head straight home to rip off the plastic, study the message in the album cover, then remove the album from the jacket, and gently plop it down on my turntable, and study the lyric sheet like Sacred Scripture! Maurice’s vision, along with all of you as EWF “Chorus”, spoke to us like a “congregation”. It was for the healing of the Nations- Powerful Music- transforming one “listening-feeling” soul after another who had ears to hear, and a heart poised to experience Love’s Transmuting Power. In fact, upon listening, transformation often happened whether one was ready for positive change, or not! We just couldn’t help it! And, I still can’t! I Am forever grateful to YOU ALL! Your artistry has, literally, served to rescue me from out of profound periods of confusion & depression toward a heart & mind of greater light & clarity throughout each decade of My Journey. I Thank Maurice, and I Thank each of You for Joyously Vibrating such Paths of Healing & Ascension. I Bow in Honor… Peace…b U, Eternally
p.s.- Last December of ’25, Ralph walked by the ticket booth at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City prior to your performance, and my wife spotted you…and I froze, pitifully! Mr. Johnson, you hung around there with my wife and I for a while. But, I was so very, honestly, “star struck”! At that moment of your gracious and patient interaction, I was (sadly) unable to express what I shared above. My wife told you (shouted actually!) that I knew you. You stopped and stared at me. And, because I froze you laughed and said, “He don’t Me!”,…then reached out and shook my hand! THANK YOU! Blessings
My earliest introduction to EWF was the Last Days and Time album. I was blown away by Maurice, Phillip and Jessica Cleaves harmonies. My favorite song from that album is I’d Rather Have You. My question is why doesn’t EWF perform me if the songs from that album during their live shows. I know I’m not alone when I say you all were a great part of the soundtrack of my life.

Maurice was pure love, his magical voice on the mic was unparalleled, his show presence and confidentiality all flower power. I got married to my wife 42 years ago, on September 21, little did we know!
Love EWF since childhood. I think everything is perfect about this band. Harmony, groove, lyrics, sound,
Sad that Maurice White passed away so early. His voice gives me shivers, so fluid, velvet.
You know, when you heard it once, you’ll never forget.
Maurice White meant the world to me. I lost my mother at the age of 16 from a glioblastoma (brain cancer) 08/10/1967. The day my world ended. Maurice, Verdine, Philip and I have HISTORY. We go ALL THE WAY BACK!!!!!!
Maurice White, for me, represents sound with a purpose, that of elevating the listener to other levels; he represents the earthly, the spiritual, and the intimate—a musical genius.
Where do I begin? Maurice and EWF have bee a part of my ENTIRE LIFE. I Was Born in 1969. EWF was my 1st Concert at the age of 5. I’ve Collected ALL of their albums. Maurice was inspiring by being Bold enough to wear his beliefs like a shield and lead such a powerful band. I hope he knew that he changed a lot of lives for the good forever. Bless the rest of your Journey, Reese!
i chris bumstead of edmonton alberta canada had the special opportunity to meet maurice white of EWF through two ole friends named terry and sheila minard from edmonton down in los angeles california in 2001 and again in 2004. maurice so kindly took sheila and myself out for a nice expensive buffet dinner at toad eyes near winnetka and ventura blvd on the way to woodland hills. in giving thanks to him i then in return i made maurice and sheila dinner out of my own pocket at sheilas classy million dollar condo in the valley. i remember maurice white hinted that he liked sole and 7 up pop, and that is what i served among other tasty things. after dinner we all smoked a big reefer together and shared a few laughs in the kitchen around the island. it was a pretty cool thrill meeting the front man maurice white from earth wind and fire r&b group. he also allowed me to visit his classy millions of dollars home at the bottom of baycourt crescent near muhulland drive in the hollywood hills down in LA in 2004. it was also a real thrill driving sheila all around LA in her nice condition 1988 navy blue brougham cadillac stretch caddy i really enjoyed the exposure of driving her all around the LA area. in conclusion to this my adoptive parents lena and murray bumstead of edmonton alberta personally knew for years two successful and popular singers and musical artists from the 70’s and 80’s. one classy wealthy lady named marlin lewis from idaho usa and also a stunt man and recording artist singer and player named cody bearpaw from wyoming usa. perhaps some day through the grace of GOD almighty we will all meet again these three super star singers in eternity and have them show off their expensive talented musical voices along with all the rest of the expensive singers in the music industry with their expensive voices like the red rocker sammy hagar whom i witnessed up close in person at his world famous cabo wabo cantina down in cabo san lucas bcs mexico on october 13 2004. GOD bless and rest in peace maurice, marlin and
cody amen.
I had a party for the group in the early 70s and they all came. While in conversation with Maurice, he said, ” You come into this world to do something, and when you do it, you leave.
Magical person and always will be.
From the groups beining t and up till present time there will never be a sound like them
I see them at Wembley in the early ’80’s with the Emotions that night and can still see them as clear as day there performance that night.
Peace Maurice
